Creating a Workplace You Are Proud Of & A Check List To Do So
Session lead by founding teammate of Rupa Health, Larissa Spearnak. She shares the impacts of a founders values and how those shape culture fom even your first few hires and a mini check list for each stage of your company.

In the bustling ecosystem of startups, a cohesive culture where teammates enjoy working with each other sets the foundation for the future & success of your company. The essence of a company’s culture is formed in the early days, even before the formal values are put into words as they spring unspoken from the founders’ actions.

As founders, it’s important to become aware of the kind of environment you are fostering. But without a rule book, it’s crucial to take intentional steps at every stage. During this workshop, you will learn how to proactively shape the company culture through building community and growing a collective growth mindset.
Join us to learn how to create a workplace you are proud of.

Supporting Individual and Community Actualization
Mobile phone and the internet are powerful technology and should absolutely be used in right relationship with tools we know that can support people in their wellbeing.  We believe that to truely realize our potential, we must learn from and support individuals in their process of actualization (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Self-actualization) and support the coming together of individuals in a larger whole (community).

In this workshop, we will share how technology, coupled with on-the-ground experience, can be not just a synergistic, but imperative part of our evolutionary growth and potential.

We will cover topics from evolutionary biology, anthropology, philosopy, psychology, modern technology and couple these "heady" topics with some in-person exercises to support deeper and more meanigful connection with each other and life.

Our goal in this is to paint a picture and lay a roadway to how we can effectively grow out of the growing pains we are experiencing in the world today.

If you care about building a perma-culture, a society that is in right relationship with each other and the world, this workshop is for you!

Tell your Founder Story
You know you need to tell a better story, and that your story will set you apart from the mob, but most entrepreneurs don't know what a good story is, how to tell it with unshakable confidence, or how to make it 100% relevant to your audience – so they buy from you, tell their friends about you and stick around for the long haul. In this session, Johanna demonstrates that stories have the power to build loyal followings, raise revenue and change the world.

You'll learn:
*How to boil your big mess of a story down to its compelling essense
*Why the *right* story is absolutely essential if you want to get the funding and effectively convey your why
*Why the stories you think are great stories might be derailing your mission and costing you money

I'll set up a Kanban board with columns "Options", "Doing", "Done".

Suggestions:
I'll give everyone sticky notes, and you'll write the topics you want to discuss on the notes, one on each sticky note. Then you'll put the sticky notes in the "Options" column.

Vote:
We will read all of the notes out loud, group similar topics, then vote by everyone coming up and putting a dot on the topic they want to vote on. Each person gets three votes.

Discuss:
We'll discuss topics and send them through the kanban board until the end.

Build a Thriving Team Culture By Embracing Difficult Conversations: Why Being Nice Creates a Shitty Team Culture
Clear communication is a must in business; sometimes that requires a difficult conversation. Many leaders find it difficult to initiate and navigate these discussions effectively, uncertain of the right timing and approach. This often leads to either rushing into them or avoiding them entirely, hindering progress from the current state to the desired outcome. Through an insightful discussion followed by an interactive workshop, we’ll help you see how being “nice” plays into this dynamic and give you practical strategies and tools to confidently handle difficult conversations so they move you towards your goals.

After the interactive workshop you’ll walk away with...
  • Knowing how to lean into a difficult conversation to move towards a goal; rather than coming out as the “bad guy” or getting stuck in the same old loop
  • With tactics for using difficult conversations to strengthen your relationships and move you towards your goals
  • With the opportunity to connect with other business leaders who are facing similar challenges
We'll be addressing challenging conversations, which is one part of our proven process desgined to develop a cohesive team culture where everyone is motivated, excited, and clear on the roadmap of the company. How to overcome the challenges of not having the right team in place, and how to get your team clear and connected to the mission of the company. This will increase revenue, customer acquisition, retention, and everything in between. We'll be addressing principles that can be applied to people hiring your first team member , or their 500th and making sure they are the right fit!
