Software startups aren't only about the founding team. Join Boulder Ruby as we host a panel during Boulder Startup Week on being an early engineer at a startup. As startups look for product market fit, they need more engineers to build the product and support customers. This panel will discuss the challenges and benefits of joining a startup as engineer #2.

We also have a zoom if you want to join online.

Moderator: Marty Haught
Panelists:
- Bekki Freeman is a software engineer currently working as a fractional CTO and VP of Engineering at several startups. Bekki has worked with Ruby on Rails since 2015, and also has experience with Objective-C and Swift. Bekki loves writing code and seeing her teams deliver business value while enjoying their work.

- Chase Gray has over 20 years of experience with 15 years focusing on web applications. He's played a pivotal leadership role in three separate successful “unicorns”. As a mentor and leader, he helped build several engineering organizations from small teams to large organizations. Chase has worked at companies such as Aurora Solar, DroneDeploy and Google.

- Kasey McCurdy has been in engineering and leadership for 20+ years. He is currently Head of Engineering at Gloo. Prior to that, Kasey was part of a failed startup with three other people; he learned a ton about what not to do. He also worked at Bunchball, the creator of the Gamification space, as an engineer and then VP of Engineering.

- Elnaz Moshfeghian is Chief Product & Technology Officer at Dashy Dash, where she leads product, design, and engineering. She has been engineer number 3 at two startups: Lob and Alto. In the latter company, Elnaz rose to become the VP of Strategy and Operations.
